Domare/Judge Flatshow 30 maj.

I have lived with, loved and cared for Flatcoats for fifty seven years. My childhood was
enriched by having our first flatcoat a family pet called Penny (Glidesdown) in it.
We first started showing our dogs in 1985 and our dogs are dual purpose taking part in
tests, field trials, picking up and shows.

My affix is Pajanbeck and my husband Paul and daughter’s Vicky and Sarah share it but I
am a second generation flatcoat owner and breeder, Windyhollows being the affix of my
parents and sister.

We bred our first litter in 1998. Our foundation bitch was Riversflight Qishon to Pajanbeck.
Jaye was mated to our own Ch. Riversflight Marling to Pajanbeck and from this litter we
kept Ch. Pajanbeck Prince of Thieves. J.W SDC A (Kazan) who is in many pedigrees
worldwide and Sh.Ch Pajanbeck Born Free.(Dash).

Kazan although used lightly at stud by our choice had seven progeny who won their titles
in the UK and four Canadian Champion progeny. We had one of his sons in lieu of a stud
fee, this was Aragorn, Ch.Glendaruel Sea the Stars with Pajanbeck (A.I). Aragorn’s dam
was Sh Ch Going My Way.JW who was a daughter of our Ryan, Pajanbeck Forever
Young.

Our dogs have sired thirteen UK Champions/Show Champions plus overseas Champions
and many other CC and Reserve CC winners.

We have also bred and owned three dogs who achieved their Shooting Dog Certificate
(SDC). Kazan, Ch. Pajanbeck Prince of Thieves. JW gaining his SDC A with me is a very
special memory. Pagan his son Benvellyn Winslett Pearl to Pajanbeck had a SDC B and
Angel, Pajanbeck Heaven can Wait was awarded her SDC at 20 months and all three
dogs had working test awards.

I have handled many flatcoats successfully in the show ring for friends in the past which
included the Riversflight flatcoats, regularly juggling handling ten dogs but far too many to
mention.

We only breed when we want to keep a new puppy, so we have had a total of eleven
litters and we look to breed a typical flatcoat that fits the breed standard therefore with
show and work in mind but our dogs are family first and stay with us for life.

I am proud to serve on the Flatcoated Retriever Society, General Committee and I am the
Flatcoated Retriever Society Rescue,Rehoming and Welfare Coordinator. I previously
served on the Committee for nine years where I did various things but one I enjoyed was
running the FCRS shop, I especially enjoyed meeting people at Crufts.

I judged the breed for the first time in 2000 but then had a gap where I concentrated on
showing and handling.I recommenced judging later and judged my first Championship
Show in the U.K. ,Scottish Kennel Club in August 2017.

My daughter’s Vicky and Sarah are also Championship Show Judges as is my sister
Nicola so Flatcoats are in my blood.

I was honoured to have been invited to judge in Switzerland,Holland and Finland where I
was thrilled with my main winners.
Win or lose we all take the best Flatcoats home.

I very much look forward to judging flatcoats in Sweden.
